2nd – 4th Grade Students

You are invited to become a member of the

Destination Imagination Club!

It's time to put those creative thinking caps on! In this club, we will use our creativity to think on our feet while solving fun instant challenges. During the activities, each student will be observed and evaluated based on their creative potential. The top 21 students from each grade will then be asked to join the competitive teams. While 2nd grade is not competitive, 21 students typically are chosen to accompany the third and fourth-grade teams to regionals to show off their work.

All students that wish to participate in this club will be allowed to join, however, only 63 students will be selected to participate in the competitive challenges. There are six new Destination Imagination challenges to choose from. The areas of focus include:

  • Technical
  • Scientific
  • Fine Arts
  • Improvisational
  • Structural Learning

There is also a non-competitive early learning challenge (2nd grade) that allows participants to build social and problem-solving skills.

After school 2:30 to 4:00 (an hour and a half)

All students that wish to try out and then participate

will be invited to typically the first 5 Tuesdays beginning in September.

If your child is selected to continue, there is a mandatory parent meeting in October at 5:30 p.m. Those that make the competitive teams will continue meeting to prep for regional competition on most Tuesdays throughout the school calendar year.

Activity bus for transportation is available but may take up to 2 hours for your child to get home. It is highly encouraged that parents pick up their students. The length of the time riding the bus home after Creative Explorers is dependent on the number of students on that bus for all after-school activities and how far across town they may have to travel.
